Madras Presidency - Regulating Dub
Nowhere in the history of the coinage world was an "adjusting unit" between two monetary systems.
This coin was introduced to adjust the payments made in copper dubs at the presidency when they reckoned in terms of Star Pagoda and Fanams instead of the Rupee.
In the sence, Regulating Dub was not a complete monetary unit in itself and this along with three dubs would make a Fanam.
Another interesting feature of this coin was that English was not used on the narration.
The exchange was
One Rupee = 48 single dubs/24 double dubs
One pagoda = 168 single dubs/84 double dubs
One pagoda = 229 1/2 Regulating dubs
One Pagoda = 42 Fanams
Three single dubs and a regulating dub = One Fanam
