Jahangir's (reign 1605 - 1627) coinage.
Jehangir (conqueror of the world)'s era is considered as the golden era of Mughal rule.
His coinage is famous for many aspects and is a reflection of the prosperity of the time and is a best example of artistic design and variation. His coinage included Zodiac signs, Illahi months, couplets, portraits and fine calligraphy.
His marriage with Noor Jahan (light of the world) occupies an important place in the coinage history of India.
By 19th regnal year, coins were issued in the name of Noor Jahan and contained poetic couplets in praise of her.
