Nawabs of Kaddapa

Kaddapa from the 11th century to the 20th century was ruled by different kings, including the Cholas, Vijayanagara Empire, The Nizams and the British. 

The Telugu king Ambadeva of the Cholas ruled Kaddapa in the 13th century.

The Khilji king Allaudin took over the reins from Pradaparudra II.

 Later the Hindu rulers of Vijayanagara drove the Khiljis and ruled for two centuries.

The Golkonda rulers took over Kaddapa in 1594 AD.

Hyder Ali of Mysore ruled over the city before it fell to the Nizams.

The British took over the Kaddapa district in 1840 AD.

The Qutub Shahi commander Nekhnam Khan extended the area and was called Nawab.

The below coins were issued by the Nawabs of Kaddapa.

Denomination  - 1/2 Fanam - 1/24 of a Rupee
Weight  - 0.17 gms 
Width  - 2.5 to 3 mm

Issued in the name of Mughal rulers ; Aurangazeb, Mohamed Shah, Ahmmed Shah Bahadur,  Alamghir II and Shah Alam II as Ali Gauhar.
