Western Gangas - Hoysala dynasty
This series of Pagodas were introduced by the hindu medieval kings of Southern Karnataka. Territorially one of the smallest, the Western Gangas issued some of the finest and artistic coinage from mid 5th century to the 10th century and later Hoysalas from 11th to 14th century. These kings encouraged fine arts, literature and showed religious tolerance.
