9. Chedi Mahajanapada
The Chedi, Cheti or Chettiya Mahajanapada was one of many Indian kingdoms ruled during early periods by Paurava kings and later by Yadava kings. It comprised the modern Bunndelkhand division of Madhya Pradesh regions to the south of river Yamuna and along the river Betwa or Vetravati. The city called Sotthivatinagara (suktimati) is mentioned as the capital of Chedi. Sometimes in 400 BC, the Vidharbha region (previously a part of Chedi Janapada) because independent.
