Dutch India
Dutch Malabar (Cochin)
As part of the Dutch settlements in India, Cochin was also in control of the Dutch East India Company since 1724.
At that time the Dutch issued coins for the convenience of their trade.
Dutch settlements in Malabar Coast were surrendered to the British in 1795, in order to prevent them being over run by the French.
Dutch Malabar remained British after the conclusion of the Anglo - Dutch treaty of 1814.
