Gupta Empire

Skandagupta  455 - 467 AD

Gupta Empire existed  from the mid - to - late 3rd century to 543 AD. At its zenith approximately 319 to 543 it covered much of the Indian subcontinent.

Notable rulers of the dynasty were Chandragupta I, Samudragupta and Chandragupta II alias Vikramaditya.

Skandagupta, son and successor of Kumaragupta I is generally considered to be the last of the great Gupta rulers.

Following the death of Skandagupta in 467 AD, the empire was clearly in decline.
