Princely state  - Bijapur

Ali Adil Shah II 1657 - 1672

Bijapur came under Muslim influence, first under Allaudin Khilji, the Sultan of Delhi, towards the end of 13th century, and then under the Bahamini kings of Bidar in 1357.

At the decline of Bahamini dynasty, five Shahi dynasties were born and one of them was Bijapur.

On the death of Mohamed Adil Shah on November 4, 1656 Ali Adil Shah II, succeeded the throne of Bijapur.

The rule of this dynasty ended in 1686, when Bijapur was conquered during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb.
